<p>Principal of PES College of Engineering, Mandya, Dr V Sridhar (in pic), has been appointed the in-charge vice chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technology University (VTU).<br /><br /></p>.<p>The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the executive council of the university on Thursday. Governor and Chancellor of the universities, Vajubhai Vala chaired the meeting, said a Raj Bhavan release.<br /><br />The appointment comes seven days after H G Shekarappa, acting vice chancellor of VTU, resigned from his post. These post of vice chancellor had been lying vacant after the ouster of H Maheshappa following charges of irregularities.</p>
