Villagers have repaired the Horanadu-Balige Road, which was posing an inconvenience to vehicle riders.

Schoolchildren from Honnekadu, Balige, Chikkanakodige, Balligolu and Dantaga villages were dependent on the road to reach Horanadu and Kalasa. The local people too faced inconvenience due to the bad condition of the road.

The villagers have been repeatedly placing requests before the PWD officials and elected representatives to repair the road. But, the appeals fallen on deaf ears.

Therefore, the villagers decided to work on their own and cleared the drains on both sides of the road on Wednesday, along with clearing the mud accumulated on the road following heavy rain. The uneven road was levelled by placing gravel stones. The repair work was carried out amidst rains.

Savinjaya, Kirthi, Shrenika, Jayaprasad and Uday took part among others.
