Wild elephants eat grains, vegetables from houses

Wild elephants have eaten all the grains and vegetables from houses at Chennangi Basavanahalli Haadi in Chennayyanakote Gram Panchayat.

Residents Kencha and Appayya had left for Dubare for work. Two elephants had arrived in the haadi on Saturday morning. The elephants broke open the doors of the houses and consumed rice and vegetables. Even the walls of the houses have been damaged.

It may be recalled that wild elephants had damaged eight houses in Basavanahalli Haadi two months ago. Now, people are fearing for their life.

The residents alleged that in spite of directions by MLAs to repair the houses, no measures have been initiated by officials.
