Will ensure cordial ties with Cong: state JD(S) chief

Soon after taking over as JD(S) state president, H Vishwanath held an interaction with reporters.

DH: What are your priorities as JD(S) president?

Vishwanath: I will discharge my duties sincerely. I will take the programmes of the government to the people. We will bring out a White Paper to dispel the myth that JD(S) has not contributed for the development of north Karnataka. I will work to ensure the party performs well in Lok Sabha polls.

DH: You were not keen on the JD(S) president post and wanted to become a minister.

V: It is not true. I am grateful to the party leadership for having given me this responsibility despite having joined the party just 14 months back.

DH: What will be your role to ensure smooth functioning of the coalition?

A: A few leaders in the Congress tried to finish me politically. However, it is a closed chapter now. I will ensure the cordial relationship between the JD(S) and the Congress.
