<p>Chamarajanagar: A woman was killed and a man was injured in a tiger attack in two different incidents under Bedaguli range, BRT Tiger Reserve, Chamarajanagar district, on Tuesday. However, the Forest department acted swiftly and rescued the tiger, within a few hours of the incident.</p><p>The deceased has been identified as one Rangamma (55) of Beduguli tribal hamlet. Ravi of Ramaiahana hamlet is the injured.</p><p>While Rangamma was attacked and killed by a tiger on Tuesday morning, Ravi was attacked on Monday night. </p><p>Rangamma had been to attend nature’s call on Tuesday morning, when the tiger attacked and killed her. Ravi was returning to his hamlet on Monday night, when the tiger attacked him. As he screamed for help, the locals rushed to his rescue and chased away the tiger. An operation was conducted and the tiger was rescued within a few hours, he said.</p><p>Forest and Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre has condoled the death of Rangamma, who died in a tiger attack and informed that Ravi has been provided treatment.</p><p>As the tiger had attacked the humans twice, an operation to capture it was ordered. The officials and staff acted swiftly and rescued the tiger, he said in a press release.</p><p>Condoling the death of Rangamma, he wished for a speedy recovery of Ravi. He has directed the officials to bear the medical expenses of Ravi and provide government compensation to the kin of Rangamma.</p><p>He has appealed to the people of the hamlet to be extra cautious while venturing out of the house during night and wee hours.</p>
