The National Commission for Women (NCW) has decided to probe the sexual harassment case against Raghaveshwara Bharati Swami of Ramachandrapura Mutt.

A probe team will be sent next week and it will submit its findings to the Commission, NCW Chairman Lalitha Kumarmangalam on Wednesday told a press conference.

She also added that team will speak to the victim and her family members. “We have taken cognisance of the matter based on newspaper reports. The NCW will ensure justice to the victim,” she said. When her attention was drawn on the restrain order by the court that the victim should not speak to media, Kumaramangalam said that the Commission can talk to the victim.

Based on the probe team report, the NCW will take future course of action on this issue, she added, while reading out the newspaper reports about the incident. Though, the victim lodged a complaint with the police of sexual harassment against the Swami and demanded the probe into the matter, media reports say that the police are not conducting fair probe into the incident, she added.
