Scion of the erstwhile royal family Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar hinted at indirectly supporting A Sumalatha, Independent candidate from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency, in the election.

Speaking to media persons during a private function here on Tuesday, he said, he is maintaining distance from politics and would not take part in public canvassing for any candidate in the election.

However, he said, “There is a good relationship between the late actor-turned politician Ambareesh, husband of Sumalatha and our family since over three and a half decades. My father, the late Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, was very close to Ambareesh. Ambareesh was by the side of our family during difficult times. We cannot forget his moral support. The Mysuru royal family will not forget its association with him. We wish all the best to Sumalatha”.

“The people of Mandya know what is good for them. They will make the right choice,” he added.
