Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has brushed aside BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa’s allegations saying that they are all “irrelevant, fabricated and baseless”.

On his arrival to attend party conferences in Nanjangud and Gundlupet, Siddaramaiah spoke to reporters at the Mysore Airport in Mandakalli on Wednesday. When reporters asked him about Yeddyurappa’s prediction of an early Assembly polls early as Siddaramaiah would not complete his term, the chief minister said, “Yeddyurappa was an ‘Income Tax Commissioner earlier, now he is trying to be an Election Commissioner. Is Yeddyurappa an Election Commissioner to decide the date of elections?”

Referring to Yeddyurappa’s recent statement that three ministers of Siddaramaiah’s Cabinet would tender their resignations owing to alleged irregularities, Siddaramaiah said that no remarks of Yeddyurappa have been proved. “Yeddyurappa is a professional liar,”  Siddaramaiah said.

“Everyone is aware of what Yeddyurappa has done during his tenure as chief minister. Yeddyurappa’s remarks are like ‘Bhagavad Gita in the mouth of a devil’,” Siddaramaiah said.

In reply to a query about former MP A H Vishwanath who is issuing statements against the chief minister and Congress leaders, Siddaramaiah said that Vishwanath will not quit Congress. “Vishwanath has said that Congress party is like his mother and he will be with the party,” he said.

Home Minister G Parameshwara, MP R Dhruvanarayan and MLA Kalale N Keshavamurthy were also present.
