urating divisional level sports meet for boys in the age group of 14-16 years at Visweswaraya stadium here on Thursday, he remarked that cricket is a popular sport and people of all age groups play it. However, the boys from the district should focus on sports with dedication and dedicate themselves for it. They should bring a name for the district at the national and international levels. He cautioned the organisers to be transparent to the hilt in selecting the winners of the division-level cricket tournament.

Deputy Director of Public Instructions, Prahlada Gowda said that conducting a division-level sports meet in Kolar is in itself a special occasion. He disclosed that accommodation has been provided at Al Ameen School Grounds and district stadium. He called upon organisers to enthuse the players and provide the necessary facilities.

District Physical Education Officer Basavaraju, coach Basavaraju, Assistant Director of Youth Service and Sports Department Narasimhaiah were present on the occasion.
Bangalore (North), Bangalore (South), Davangere, Tumkur, Chitradurga, Bangalore (Rural), Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Madhugiri, Shimoga and Ramnagaram are taking part in the event.
