‘No-drug affidavit’ in Malayalam film industry

Thiruvananthapuram: A forum of film producers in Kerala has mooted a ‘no-drug affidavit’ by actors and technicians on film sets.

The Kerala Film Producers’ Association has come up with the initiative, which will be implemented from June 26, the International Day Against Drug Abuse.

It is in view of the recent allegations that some Malayalam actors were indulging in drug abuse on film sets that the producers’ association made the move.

The affidavit will be made part of the remuneration contract of artistes and technicians. The association informed the decision to the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists and the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA).
