<p class="title">An intense cold wave continued to sweep Kashmir on Tuesday as Leh and Kargil towns of Ladakh region recorded season's coldest night at 6.3 and 5.2 degrees Celsius respectively.</p>.<p align="justify" class="title"><br />A MeT department official said Srinagar recorded an improvement of 3.6 degrees Celsius in the night temperature, with the mercury settling at a low of 3.6 degrees, as compared to previous night's 0.7 degrees.</p>.<p align="justify" class="title"><br />He said the minimum temperature in the famous ski-resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir, the tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir settled at 0.0 and 0.8 degree celsius respectively against previous night's 0.6 and 1.7 degree celsius.</p>.<p align="justify" class="title">Qazigund, the gateway town to Kashmir, recorded a minimum of 1.6 degree celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir recorded a minimum of 0.7 degree celsius, the official said.</p>.<p align="justify" class="title">The rise in temperature has been due to the cloud cover over most parts of Kashmir, which is predicted to bring rain in the next 24– 48 hours. </p>.<p align="justify" class="title">The predicted rainfall would end the prevalent dry spell in the valley which has given rise to ailments like cough and common cold.</p>
