<p>Mumbai: With tears welling up and folded hands amid chants of ‘<em>Om Namah Shivay Har Har Bhole Namah Shivay</em>', octogenarian Pushkraj Sabharwal led the prayers as he bid an emotional final adieu to his son, Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, who was commanding the ill-fated Dreamliner that crashed last week in Ahmedabad - in what was one of the worst-ever aviation tragedies in India. </p><p>Captain Sabharwal (55) was a resident of Jal Vayu Vihar in the upscale Hiranandani Gardens area of Powai.</p>.Watch | New video shows lone survivor walking out of burning crash site.<p>Captain Sabharwal, who was unmarried, is survived by father Pushkraj Sabharwal. </p><p>His mother passed away a couple of years ago. </p><p>Pushkraj Sabharwal placed flowers at the casket, stood in silence and then chanted prayers with other family members and friends.</p><p>The hearse carrying the late pilot's mortal remains later left for the Chakala electric crematorium, where the last rites were conducted. </p><p>Captain Sabharwal, along with First Officer Clive Kundar, was piloting the Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London when it crashed within seconds of take off. While Captain Sabharwal had 8,200 hours of flying experience, First Officer Kundar had clocked 1,100 hours.</p>.Ahmedabad plane crash: 135 victims identified, 101 bodies handed over to kin.<p>Many of the friends and colleagues of Captain Sabharwal broke down.</p><p>“He was always smiling…whenever he was at home in the mornings or evenings, he used to take his father out for a walk,” a JalVayu Vihar resident said. </p><p>“We have known each other for the past several years. We had flown together many times on the same flight,” said Usha Talwadekar, a former colleague of the pilot. </p><p>“The Senior and Junior Sabharwals were very respected members of the society,” said Capt Jindal, a resident. </p><p>The 56-year-old pilot was among 241 killed when the London Gatwick-bound Boeing 787 Dreamliner AI171 crashed into a hospital and medical college complex shortly after takeoff from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. Only one passenger miraculously survived. </p>
