<p>Mumbai: A team of <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/bengaluru">Bengaluru</a> police has reached Pune to take the custody of Rakesh Rajendra Khedekar, who attempted to end his life, to escape from the murder of his wife, Gauri Anil Sambrekar.</p><p>The couple, who hailed from Maharashtra, had been married for around three years. </p><p>According to reports Rakesh left Bengaluru for Mumbai on Tuesday after killing Gauri (32) in a fit of rage following arguments over financial distress. </p><p>On Thursday, he also called his landlord and confessed to the murder.</p><p>En route, Rakesh had consumed pesticides, possibly to end his life, after which he fell unconscious. </p><p>Rakesh was shifted to Sassoon General Hospital in Pune where he is undergoing treatment under strict arrangements.</p>.<p>The couple from Satara had recently shifted to Bengaluru and were staying in a rented accommodation. </p><p>Gauri, who had a background in mass media and communication, was unemployed and searching for a job while Rakesh was a project manager in a private company. </p>.Bengaluru woman murder: Husband 'main suspect,' attempted suicide, say police.<p>Meanwhile, Dr Eknath Pawar, Dean, B J Government Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital, said that Rakesh was under treatment. </p><p>"According to the information provided by the patient, he consumed phenyl and pesticide,” Dr Pawar said. </p><p>The body of Gauri was found stuffed in a suitcase in Doddakannelli in Hulimavu area of Bengaluru.</p>
