<p>Mumbai: Hours after the statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar was vandalised at the Heritage Street in Punjab's Amritsar on Republic Day, his grandson and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi founder Prakash Ambedkar said that there is a large “underground conspiracy” in play across the nation to replace the Constitution and re-introduce Manusmriti.</p><p>He demanded an investigation behind the growing incidents of vandalism of Babasaheb’s statues and the Constitution.</p><p>“A large 'underground' conspiracy is in play across the nation to replace the Constitution and re-introduce Manusmriti, which is exemplified by the growing incidents of vandalism of Babasaheb’s statues and the Constitution,” said Ambedkar.</p>.CM Bhagwant Mann condemns attempt to vandalise Ambedkar's statue in Amritsar.<p>“The vandalisation of Babasaheb’s statues is more than a criminal act by the miscreants! Such vandalisms are a demonstration of the miscreants’ detestation of Babasaheb’s social reforms, political philosophy and rich legacy,” he said.</p><p>“Needless to say, this exhibition of hate is appalling. But what is more appalling is that this incident happened in Amritsar, on India’s 76th Republic Day — the day India adopted the Constitution, crafted under Chairmanship of Babasaheb, and liberated itself from the colonial yoke and the order of Manusmriti,” he added.</p><p>He urged the AAP and Punjab Police to take stricter action against the miscreants and prevent recurrence of such events. </p>
