Maharashtra cop suspended for molesting minor girl

Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a policeman posted at twin forts of Lohagad-Visapur in Lonavala hill station in Pune district, molested a minor girl on Wednesday.

The policeman, Sachin Sathe (43), has been placed under suspension.

The Lonavala Rural police station has registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita based on the complaint filed by the relatives of the victim.

The policeman was temporarily deployed in the area because of heavy rush of tourists during the Christmas and New Year festivities.
