<p>Mumbai: Here goes the proverb - "look before you leap".</p><p>This could be a scenario in <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/maharashtra">Maharashtra</a> if anyone wants to purchase cars - at least in cities. </p><p>The future car buyers may soon need more than just money and paper as having a parking space would be mandatory. </p><p>The decision is being taken in the wake of parking issues in the Mumbai metropolitan region and big cities like Pune and Nagpur</p>.Maharashtra govt issues protocol guidelines for CJI visit amid row over lapses .<p>State Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik said that buyers will need to provide proof of an allotted parking space to register new vehicles.</p><p>“We are looking to construct parking spaces. Development rules should be followed, and developers must provide parking with flats. We will not register new vehicles if the buyer doesn’t have a certificate of parking space allotment from the concerned civic body,” said Sarnaik. </p><p>The Urban Development Department is working on a proposal to allow construction of parking facilities beneath designated recreational grounds. </p>
