<p>Nagpur: Prime Minister <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/narendra-modi">Narendra Modi</a> will visit the <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/rss">Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh</a> (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur to meet <em>sangh</em> chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat and pay tributes to its founder Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar on 30<sup>th</sup> March, the first day of the Hindu calendar, Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule said on Thursday.</p><p>This is the first time a sitting PM is visiting the <em>sangh</em> headquarters at Nagpur’s Reshimbagh, where Modi will lay the foundation stone of the extension building of a hospital. </p>.India will be destroyed if RSS takes control of education: Rahul Gandhi.<p>PM's visit coincides with the preparations of the RSS centenary year celebrations, which begin on Vijayadashmi this October. </p><p>In Nagpur, Modi is also scheduled to visit Deekshabhoomi, where Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar embraced Buddhism along with thousands of his followers in 1956.</p><p>BJP, ideologically mentored by the RSS, is currently in the process of holding organisational elections from the district to the national level.</p><p>JP Nadda, the incumbent President, was inducted into the union cabinet by PM Modi in June 2024. He’s been on extension since, holding dual responsibilities. </p><p>Modi’s visit to Nagpur comes close on the heels of the Bengaluru meeting of the RSS Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha, the highest decision-making and policy formulation body of the saffron outfit, which passed a resolution expressing concerns over "Hindu persecution in Bangladesh."</p>
