Mamata's 'bhaipo' and company swindled central relief funds for Amphan: Amit Shah

Targeting Mamata Banerjee, Amit Shah said that she was only interested in making her nephew the next CM of Bengal

Alleging that the “bhatija and company” (nephew and company) siphoned off central funds following the cyclone Amphan, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday threatened to put those who were responsible for the alleged scam behind bars. He also said that if voted to power in West Bengal, the BJP government will set up a committee to investigate the alleged corruption involving the central aids for Amphan.

“The Central government sent Rs 10,000 crore to Bengal for relief work following the cyclone Amphan. But it did not reach the affected people as it was swindled by the Bhatija and company and other Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders,” said Shah. He was speaking at a rally in the Sundarban area of West Bengal’s South 24 Paraganas district.

“If voted to power, the BJP government will set up a committee to investigate the case and put the culprits behind bars,” said Shah.

Targeting Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Shah said that she was only interested in making her nephew the next Chief Minister of Bengal and instead of the people’s welfare, she was only concerned about the nephew’s welfare.

“Didi is only bothered about making her nephew the next Chief Minister of Bengal. Do you want the nephew as the Chief Minister? If not, then vote for the BJP,” said Shah.

Shah also said that despite repeatedly promising to make Sundarban a separate district, Mamata failed to keep her word. He said that if voted to power, BJP would ensure that Sundarban becomes a separate district.

“Earlier Didi made 282 promises. But how many did she fulfill? Didi has no answer.So you answer her by voting for the BJP,” said Shah.

The Union Home Minister also said that if voted to power, BJP would implement the CAA as promised in its manifesto.

He further alleged that TMC has set up a regime of “cut money and syndicate raj” in Bengal and urged the people to "throw" it out of the state.

“We are determined to end the syndicate raj of the TMC. We have to put a stop to this cut money culture,” said Shah.
