<p>West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s younger brother, Ashim Banerjee, died of Covid-19 on Saturday.</p>.<p>According to his family members, Ashim, who tested positive for the infection last month had been hospitalised since then.</p>.<p>The Chief Minister’s brother, popularly known as “Kalida” in the neighbourhood, was admitted at a private hospital in Kolkata. Sources at the hospital said that his condition had been fluctuating.</p>.<p>His last rights were performed at the Nimtala crematorium as per Covid-19 protocol. Members of the Chief Minister’s family and Transport Minister Firhad Hakim were present there.</p>
