<p>The body of a 38-year-old man, who was abducted by militants on Thursday night from his home in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, was recovered on Friday.</p>.<p>A police officer said Mohammad Yaqoob Wagay, a mutton dealer, was found at a site close to his home in Gunda Preng village of Hajin with a slit throat.<br /><br />“Three to four unknown militants barged inside the house of Wagay and abducted him at around 1 am. The family of the slain man immediately informed the police, who subsequently reached the spot. Yaqoob's body was recovered from near his house,” the officer said and blamed Lashkar-e-Toiba operatives, including local militant Saleem Parrey.<br /><br />On April 6, militants slit the throat of a 25-year-old youth in the same area. On November 2, a state BJP leader, Gowhar Bhat, was killed by militants who slit his throat in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.<br /><br />On October 18, a school teacher was found dead with a slit throat in the same district, a week after three militants were killed in an encounter with security forces at his house.</p>.<p>The trend, “popularised" by Islamic State group in West Asia, has been prevalent in Kashmir in the last decade, but rare.<br /><br />Meanwhile, the now-defunct Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen in a statement to a local news gathering agency GNS claimed responsibility for the grenade attacks on a CRPF camp at Safakadal area of Srinagar and a security forces party at Jammu Bus Stand on Thursday evening.<br /><br />Four people, including three policemen and a civilian, were injured when militants lobbed a grenade at the police vehicle near Jammu Bus Stand around 11 pm on Thursday. The injured include Station House Officer Rajesh Jasrotia, driver Arjun Kumar, Constable Shah Israr and a civilian, Jagdev Raj.</p>
