Anzi Alibava, who was killed in a terror strike in New Zealand, was laid to rest at her home town of Kodungalloor in Thrissur district in central Kerala on Monday.

Anzi's body was brought back from New Zealand by early Monday morning. It was received by Kerala government representatives and her relatives at the Nedumbaserry airport in Kochi.

It was taken to her house at Kodungalloor, where it was kept for the public to pay homage. The body was laid to rest at the Cheraman Jama Mosque by 11 am.

Anzi was doing a Master of Technology course at an agriculture university in New Zealand, and also had a part-time job at a super market there along with her husband Abdul Nazar.

Nazar had suffered minor injuries in the firing at mosques at Christchurch on March 15. Anzi's father Alibava had died earlier and she leaves behind mother and a brother.
