<p>Ahmedabad: Ahead of 50 per cent US tariffs on Indian goods, which is likely to come into effect from August 27, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday reiterated that the government was "firm on not compromising with the interest of small entrepreneurs, cattle rearers and farmers", regardless of pressure.</p><p>"No matter how much pressure comes, we will keep increasing our strength to find a way out of it. The Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan has been gaining a lot of energy from Gujarat for the past two decades," the Prime Minister said while addressing a public gathering in Ahmedabad city.</p>.After Trump's tariff, Zelenskyy nudges Modi to stop India's energy imports from Russia.<p>"We all are witnessing the politics of economic selfishness in the world. My government has always stood by small businesses and farmers,” the PM said.</p><p>The US has been accusing India of indirectly funding Russia in war against Ukraine by purchasing crude oil from Russia.</p><p>The Prime Minister also held a three-km road show later in the evening. During his two-day state visit, he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones of development projects worth Rs 5,477 crore, the state government said.</p>
