Raj Kundra raided by ED in porn-linked money laundering case

Mumbai: Enforcement Directorate conducted raids in over a dozen places that are linked to Bollywood actor-model Raj Kundra, who is an accused in the alleged pornography case.

Kundra is married to Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.

In July 2011, a case was registered with the Crime Branch-CID of the Mumbai Police against Kundra and others vis-a-vis creation of pornographic films. It was alleged that they were releasing such films via certain apps.

Kundra was arrested and a chargesheet was registered in the case, however, now he is currently out on bail.

The ED is carrying out investigations on allegedly money laundering in the pornography case.

According to reports, searches were carried out in around 15 places in Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh.

In a statement issued by Shilpa Shetty’s lawyer Prashant Patil, the ED searches are linked to the ongoing case against Kundra, where he is cooperating.

“There have been reports in the media saying that my client Shilpa Shetty Kundra has been raided by the ED. These reports are not true and are misleading.

"As per my knowledge, there is no ED raid on Mrs Shilpa Shetty Kundra as she has nothing to do with any offence of whatsoever nature,” the statement said urging the media not to publish her photographs.
