<p>Mumbai: Reserve Bank of India's deputy governor T Rabi Sankar's term has been extended by one year, according to a government notification.</p><p>The government notification, dated April 21, said Sankar would continue to serve for an additional year starting May 3 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.</p>.RBI permits minors above 10 years to operate bank accounts independently. <p>Sankar was first appointed deputy governor on March 3, 2021 for a period of three years before his term was extended by a year in 2024.</p><p>Sankar handles key departments like foreign exchange management, financial markets operations, financial markets regulations, external investments and government and bank accounts. </p>
