Barricades and check posts had been set-up on all main entry and exit points in the twin towns and vehicles were being allowed in after extensive checking, police sources here said on Saturday.
Security personnel in strength had been deployed at all sensitive places and buildings in Faizabad, Ayodhya and elsewhere and a strict vigil was being maintained, sources said.
The government has banned all public programmes on Sunday. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad observes “shaurya diwas” (bravery day), while the Muslim outfits observe the day as “black day” and take out processions. “No programmes will be allowed on Sunday,” Additional Director General of Police A K Jain told reporters here.
