8-year-old wins hearts by donating his savings to Indian Army

An 8-year-old from Tamil Nadu has won hearts with his decision to donate his 10-month-long savings to the Indian Army.

“I study in the second standard. I saved all my money to give to the army soldier because I want to help those who protect us," the second grader studying in a government school in Karur told media.

The young boy, who had been saving up part of his pocket money and contributions from his family members in the last 10 months approached the District Collector’s office with his contribution.

A video showing the little boy with his piggy bank has gone viral on social media, with netizens showering blessings on him.

"Awwweeee... his parents did a great work in raising such a cute, patriotic child. May the blessings of Mahadev be always upon you baccha,(sic)" wrote on user, while another wrote: "Awww....my heart! ♥️ That's our future.....however much we may fight amongst ourselves for small little things but across India we are teaching our kids how to love our Armed forces and India,nothing is bigger than that!(sic)"

India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 to destroy terror infrastructure at nine places in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack.

The attack on terror bases led to Pakistani offensives, which were successfully thwarted by the Indian armed forces. In retaliation, India carried out strikes at military installations in Pakistan until the early morning of May 10.
