The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), which manages the Sabarimala Temple, will move the Supreme Court on Monday seeking more time to implement its order of allowing women of all age into the shrine.

The decision to move the apex court was taken at a meeting the TDB chief A Padmakumar had with members and representatives of the Royal Pandalam and tantri families in Pamba on Friday evening.

Padmakumar, who is scheduled to meet Chief Minister Pinnarayi Vijayan on Saturday evening, told reporters in Thiruvananthapuram that the TDB has begun the process to move the apex court.

“We would cite four reasons for seeking more time like the damages caused by recent floods, difficulties to arrange basic amenities for more pilgrims, especially for women.

Advocate Chandra Uday Singh will appear for TDB in the Supreme court, TDB sources said.
