<p class="title">A software engineer, native of Gottimukkala in Kanchikacherla block of Andhra Pradesh, fell into a waterfall in Charlotte, North Carolina in the United States of America, on Saturday evening US time and died.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Gogineni Nagarjuna, the third son of Telugu Desam leader, the late G Venkat Rao, went to the US in 2008 and was working there after completing his MS.</p>.<p class="bodytext">According to close relatives of the techie, friends of Nagarjuna called his mother in Gottimukkala on Monday at 6.30 am and informed her that her son is no more. However, there is no confirmation of his death from the Charlotte police, they said.</p>.<p class="CrossHead"><strong>Accidental fall</strong></p>.<p class="bodytext">It is said that Nagarjuna and his friends went to Elk waterfall, considered one of the most precarious waterfalls in the Charlotte region. “He slipped while getting close to the waterfall, fell on the rocks first and then slid into the gushing water stream. His listless body was recovered after half an hour by the rescue team,” Nagarjuna’s relatives said. However, some others said that Nagarjuna jumped into the falls for fun and when he tried the same feat again, he fell on the rocks.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Meanwhile, local legislator Tangirala Sowmya, who consoled Nagarjuna’s mother, told the media that efforts were being made to bring back the body of Nagarjuna. “It is unfortunate that such a bright future was nipped in the bud. We are in touch with Telugu associations to complete the formalities,” she said.</p>
