<p>Alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement of India’s achievement in shooting down a satellite was a violation of the Model Code of Conduct, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) will lodge a complaint to the Election Commission (EC). She also described the Prime Minister’s action as “limitless drama.”</p>.<p>“There is no great urgency in conducting and announcing the mission now by a government past its expiry date. It seems a desperate oxygen to save the imminent sinking of the BJP boat. We are lodging a complaint with the Election Commission,” tweeted Banerjee.</p>.<p>The Chief Minister also described the announcement as a “gross violation of Model Code of Conduct.” </p>.<p>“Today’s announcement is yet another limitless drama and publicity mongering by Modi desperately trying to reap political benefits at the time of election. This is a gross violation of Model Code of Conduct,” tweeted Banerjee.</p>.<p>Later in the day during the release of TMC’s election manifesto Banerjee said that instead of the Prime Minister the announcement the concerned scientists.</p>.<p>“What was the need for Modi to violate the MCC by making such an announcement. The announcement should have been made by the scientists,” said Banerjee.</p>
