<p>A 16-year-old girl and her grandfather were found brutally murdered in their house in Kuriyada village in Hosmaru in Puttur taluk on Tuesday. The girl’s grandmother shifted to a private hospital in Puttur is battling for her life, police sources told <em>DH</em>.</p>.<p>The deceased were identified Samiha Banu, a student of ninth standard in MPM school and her grandfather 65-year-old Koggu Saheb. The double murder came to light when Saheb’s son Razak Hosmar, residing in Puttur, visited the house in the morning.</p>.<p>On finding the three victims lying in a pool of blood, Razak raised an alarm and sought the help of neighbours. Saheb’s wife Kathijamma (55) who was found breathing was shifted to a private hospital.</p>.<p>Saheb’s eldest son resides in Dubai and the Samiha Banu was staying with her grandparents.</p>.<p>Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police B M Lakshmi Prasad visited the spot. Police said that the suspected murderers had washed their hands at a tap located in front of the Badriya masjid. Police who have begun investigation into the double murder suspected that quarrel over property had resulted in the double murder.</p>
