<p>Lucknow: Two devotees died and 38 others were injured in a stampede at Ausaneshwar Temple in Barabanki district in the wee hours of Monday.</p><p>This comes a day after eight devotees were killed in a stampede at the famous Mansa Devi Temple at Haridwar in Uttarakhand, </p><p>According to the police sources here, the stampede occurred when the devotees started running for safety after a live wire fell on a tin shed leaking the current. </p><p>Several devotees including women fell as the people trampled one another in a bid to get out of the temple premises.</p> .Uttarakhand stampede: Closure of route 30 mins before stampede prevented bigger tragedy, says Officer.<p>There had been a huge rush of devotees at the temple since Sunday night as the devotees made a beeline to offer water at the Shiva Temple on the third Monday of the Hindu month of Shravana.</p><p>Sources said that seven of the injured were stated to be critical and were referred to a higher centre for treatment.</p><p>Officials launched the rescue operations almost immediately as ambulances rushed the injured to the nearby hospitals.</p><p>A probe was ordered into the incident. ‘’It will be investigated as to how the live wire fell on the tin shed,’’ said an official.</p> .<p>Eye witness accounts said that the live wire fell on the tin shed after some monkeys jumped on to it and as a result it snapped and fell on the tin shed, which was erected to protect the devotees from the Sun.</p><p>Eight devotees were killed and over 30 others injured in a stampede at the Mansa Devi Temple at Haridwar on Sunday morning. </p>
