VHP to launch 'Sanatan Yatra' from Murshidabad, set up offices in Muslim majority areas to 'protect' temples

'There is a proposal to make India a Hindu Rashtra to prevent recurrence of Pahalgam like incidents,' the mahant said.

Lucknow: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Sunday organised a ‘Dharm Sansad’ (religious parliament) here in which the seers and saints demanded that India be declared a ‘Hindu Rashtra’ and decided to form a ‘Sanatani Sena’ to check ‘love jihad’ (Muslim boys marrying Hindu girls under false pretenses).

VHP would also set up its offices, which it termed ‘sanatan kavach’ (sanatan shield) in the Muslim majority areas in the country in a bid to what it said ‘protect’ the Hindus and temples situated there.

The mahant of Ayodhya based Hanumangarhi temple Raju Das said after the ‘Dharm Sansad’ that seven resolutions concerning the Hindus, Sanatan Dharma and temples were adopted at the meeting.

‘’There is a proposal to make India a Hindu Rashtra to prevent recurrence of Pahalgam like incidents,’’ he said.

The resolutions included formation of a ‘Hindu Rashtra’, setting up offices in Muslim majority localities in the country to ‘protect’ the Hindus living there and the temples, launching a campaign to prevent ‘love jihad’ among others.

A ‘sanatani’ helpline number was also released in the ‘Dharm Sansad’.

It was decided that a countrywide ‘Sanatan Yatra’ will be undertaken from June this year in protest against the recent incident of violence in Murshidabad in West Bengal in which three persons were killed. The ‘Yatra’ will begin from Murshidabad.

The ‘Dharm Sansad’ was attended by Uttar Pradesh deputy chief minister Brijesh Pathak, seers and saints from different parts of the country. A similar ‘Dharm Sansad’ was also held at the Mahakumbh a few months back where also the demand for the ‘Hindu Rashtra’ was made.
