<p>Lucknow: At least 47 labourers were trapped under an avalanche near Mana village, close to the Indo-China border in <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/uttarakhand/70">Uttarakhand’s </a>Chamoli district, on Friday.</p><p>Inspector General of police, Garhwal range Rajiv Swaroop said that 57 labourers, who were engaged in road construction works by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), were trapped under an the avalanche. </p><p>So far, ten have been rescued and three were rushed to the army hospital.</p> .Avalanche warning issued for Uttarakhand's Chamoli.<p>Swaroop said that the ITBP and SDRF teams rushed to the spot and rescue operations are ongoing. Senior officials from Chamoli also rushed to the spot, he added.</p><p>The officials also sought help from the Indian Air Force, sources said.</p><p>The IG said that the area had been experiencing heavy snowfall for the past two days. ‘’It is still snowing in the area,’’ he added.</p><p>Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that teams of ITBP, SDRF were conducting rescue operations.</p><p>A yellow alert has been issued at many places in the hill state with the weather office predicting heavy rains at some places and snowfall in others.</p><p>Reports said that there was heavy snowfall in Gangotri, Yamunotri, Harshil, Kedarnath and Badrinath while the state capital of Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Nainital and Champawat districts experienced heavy rains.</p>
