West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday took a veiled dig at Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy for his tweet supporting a call for boycotting Kashmiri goods.

The Chief Minister in a tweet alleged that along with some political parties even people holding constitutional posts are spreading hatred with dangerous statements. She further alleged that these people were also indulging in rumour mongering.

“One section of political parties/ groups along with people holding constitutional positions indulging in rumour mongering, spreading hatred with dangerous statements,” tweeted Banerjee.

She further alleged that even journalists were targeted and politics was being polluted.

“Even journalists are not spared. This is shameless politics. What level of polluted politics have we descended to?” said Banerjee.

Following the terror attack on CRPF jawans in Jammu and Kashmir Roy expressed supports to call for boycotting Kashmiri goods in a tweet.

“ An appeal from a retired colonel of the Indian Army: Don’t visit Kashmir, don’t go to Amarnath for the next two years. Don’t buy articles from Kashmir emporia or Kashmiri tradesmen who come every winter. Boycott everything Kashmiri. I am inclined to agree,” tweeted Roy.

Banerjee had earlier slammed the Centre for not paying hid to intelligence inputs ahead of the attack on CRPF jawns and asked whether it wanted to wage a war ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. She also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah of indulging in politics over the incident.
