'Why so touchy?': Supreme Court questions Delhi HC order in ANI-Wikipedia case

The Bench of Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, was hearing a plea moved by the Wikimedia Foundation (Wikipedia) against the Delhi High Court order.

The Supreme Court on Friday questioned a Delhi High Court order directing the operator of Wikipedia to remove statements deemed defamatory by the court from the page of news agency ANI.

The apex court asked the High Court "how can it be so touchy?", Bar and Bench reported.

The Bench of Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, while hearing a plea moved by the Wikimedia Foundation (Wikipedia) against the Delhi High Court order, said, "Every day in media we find severe criticism of the Court. Unless it is contempt, how can the court be so touchy? In a lighter vein, this criticism is nothing. Why is the Court being so touchy? Such criticism will be read and forgotten in a few days."
