But the Law Minister contradicted him in the evening and reiterated the party stand that the young MP should not continue his yatra.<br /><br />“The meeting went off well. He has given me a go-ahead. He told me to go and continue with whatever I am doing,” Reddy told journalists after meeting Moily. He also claimed that the Law Minister had appreciated him for embarking on the yatra.<br /><br />Reddy’s aides told journalists that Jagan would now resume his yatra from Srikakulam in coastal Andhra Pradesh from June 8 next. They also said that the Kadapa MP would now carry on his yatra in non-Telangana regions of Andhra Pradesh and would travel to Telangana after the crucial by-elections to the State Assembly. <br /><br />The pro-Telangana groups had opposed Reddy’s yatra as they perceived it as a campaign against bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and creation of the new State. Even the Telangana MPs and MLAs within the Congress are unhappy over Reddy’s tours to the region.<br /><br />According to the sources in the Congress, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah had called up Moily and party president Sonia Gandhi’s political secretary Ahmed Patel to express his displeasure over the approval that Reddy claimed to have got from the party’s top brass in Delhi.<br /><br />Moily then called up Reddy again and conveyed to him the high command’s directive to abandon the yatra. <br /><br />The Law Minister clarified in the evening that the party had not given the go-ahead to Reddy. “My advice to him is that he should not embark on the yatra at all. I told him this after I heard that he would go to non-Telangana regions. The rest is upto him,” said Moily.
