Oily skin is a common concern that bothers youngsters due to the inactive lifestyle and food habits that they have. It often puts them in embarrassing situations as they are often forced to wipe their face with tissues to get rid of the grease and stickiness.

Oily skin also becomes a hotbed for pimples, black heads and a host of other skin conditions that can lower your self-esteem and make you conscious of your looks. But it is not impossible to care for oily skin. A disciplined skincare regimen can do the trick.

Here are a few tips to manage oily skin better on a daily basis:

Don’t wash your face too often

The biggest dilemma you may face is with the frequency of washing your face! Excessive washing can dehydrate your skin and cause irritation and inflammation.

It is best to wash your face twice a day with lukewarm water to help remove excess oil, dirt, or makeup, which can cause acne breakouts and excessive oil build up.

Choose the right face wash

Use a face wash that is especially designed for oily skin. The face wash should be able to deeply cleanse your skin and help remove excess oil, dirt and impurities. You can select a fruity gel-based face wash with natural beads that can give you a fresh start every day!

Gently exfoliate your skin

Be gentle on your skin and do not scrub too harshly to remove all the dirt and grime. A face wash that has natural beads exactly serves this purpose of being mild. Complement your skin by using a mild skin cleanser that tones your skin just right and removes dead cells along with surface impurities. This will enhance the appearance of the skin, keep it healthy, and restore suppleness.

Keep skin concerns at bay

Supplement your skin care solution with ample care, as such skin is prone to several issues like acne, pimples, black heads, etc., caused due to clogged pores and excess oil secretion from the sebaceous glands. Don’t add on to the oil! Use an oil-free face moisturiser, and when you oil your hair, ensure you wash it off in a couple of hours, as it can impact the oil quotient of your face. It is best to avoid oil-based shampoos as well.

Eat right

Avoid foods and beverages that are high in sugar and unhealthy oils. Stick to fruits, vegetables and lean proteins. A high-fibre diet, adequate water intake, and a good night’s sleep is advisable to keep the skin healthy and glowing.
