The Courtyard, located in Shantinagar, is the right space for creative minds and of course food lovers.
An exuberant South-Indian house built in 1950, The Courtyard, has been refurbished into a restaurant. It’s a perfect setting where food and art come together to offer a unique experience.

Inspired by top art community centres, this eatery plans to host open mics, stand-up shows, movie nights, theatre workshops and gigs at the newly opened studio above the restaurant. The idea is to have performances going alongside some good food. The well-crafted menu offers pastas, pizzas to flavoured tea and toasts.

However, the must-try dishes are ‘Cajun Chicken’, ‘Paneer Grill’, marinated in Tchoupitoulas sauce, accompanied with mashed potatoes.

“We are contemplating introducing new dishes to suit the mood of the people and the ambience of each night. We are even thinking of introducing sizzlers and some Indian-Mexican cuisines”, says Chef Abay Kumar.

The Courtyard also has a canopied rooftop to provide space for creative minds and meaningful conversation.

“Our vision is to give art a formal space. We want to build and foster the community of artists”, says Dipti Rao, the events manager of The Courtyard. In fact, the walls of the restaurant display artworks for sale by local artists. The eatery is located at No 105, KH Road, Shantinagar. It is open from 11 am to 10 pm.
