Pre-monsoon should not be a damper when it comes to fashion, it can in fact, rouse the perfect ensemble into place.

Here are a few tips that can help you pick the right clothes this season.

It’s time for shorter hemlines. This is the right time to get into a pair of comfortable organic cotton shorts or a divided skirt which makes it easier for you to traverse across all the puddles. Playsuits with embellishments are also a great idea

Opt for natural fabrics like organic cottons, and other lightweight sustainable fabrics such as eucalyptus which will keep you cool and help your skin breathe. When choosing light and airy tops, keep all your short tunics, roomy tops and light T-shirts ready for everyday wearing.

Go bold on the thick hand embroidery. Monsoon is about giving back colour on a dull day. Tunics can have rosette patterns splattered across the bodice as well as some mirror work to glam up the ensemble.

Use recycled pet bottles and add some light wind-cheaters to your wardrobe which you can easily carry in your bag. This wind-cheater made from the recycled yarn produced from pet bottles is a great product which you can quickly pull it over in case of rain and it will protect your clothes against the drizzle.

Do not skimp on the culottes, while we love palazzos, culottes are the saviour of the day. Culottes can be rightly paired with anything to create a variety of looks. Team it up with flip-flops, flats or floaters and you are good to go.

Wear a beautiful hand-worked cape with a short dress or even a pair of shorts. Capes are totally in right now. And this silhouette will keep your spirits up and youthful. Pair it with ankle-strap sandals and oversized sunnies for the perfect monsoon look

Carry a statement umbrella. You can opt for an umbrella which is up-cycled, and there are others that sport bold prints and quirky overtones.

While one is most comfortable with flip flops, Galoshes made out of recycled rubber with interesting prints, textures or even plain colours are a great choice. They are ideal this season as they will keep you safe from the dirty water puddles.

Care for your skin

During the monsoon, skin care is very essential. Stay hydrated and saturate
your skin simultaneously. Here are a few home remedies to keep your skin smooth.

Use a blend of avocado with milk and honey as a pack to moisturise your skin.

Aloe extract with honey and rosewater essence offers the perfect moisturiser.
