Lions Club of Bangalore Host, an international service organisation, completed 61 years recently. Activities focused on areas like environment, education, medical aid, youth empowerment and more are undertaken by this cosmopolitan natured club whose motto is ‘we serve’.

They commemorated their 60th anniversary in 2016-17 by donating computers to a government school. They also built toilets for the government schools in Kogilu village and Kogilu Layout, Yelahanka.

“The most important project we have worked on so far is the Govt Primary and High School at Agrahara Layout since 1982. The school had just three classrooms initially, also built by us. We have invested over Rs 3 crore through CSR funds, philanthropists and fund raising activities in building a 21 classroom building for the primary school,” says Lion Capt Siva Subramanyam, chairman, Lions School Committee, Lions Club of Bangalore Host.

“This year we have completed community service projects worth Rs 1.70 crores. We built a new school building with 12 classrooms, an open air auditorium of 4000 sq ft and a Lions children play park.
