Hinting at large scale defection in the Trinamool Congress (TMC) after the Lok Sabha election results are declared Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that 40 TMC MLAs are in touch with him. He also said that after the election results are declared the TMC MLAs will leave West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

“Didi you are losing ground beneath your feet. After the election results will come out on May 23 and lotus will bloom everywhere then your MLAs will leave you. Even now 40 of your MLAs are in touch with me. Didi it will be difficult fir you to escape now because you are traitor,” said the Prime Minister. He was addressing a party rally at Sreerampore in Hooghly district.

The Prime Minister scoffed at Banerjee’s claim that TMC will play a key role in firming the new government at the Centre. He said that with a limited number of seats it is not possible for her to become the Prime Minister and her real intention is to politically establish her nephew and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee.

“Didi with so few seats you will not be able to reach Delhi. Delhi is far away. All she wants is politically establish her nephew in West Bengal,” said Modi.

The Prime Minister launched a scathing attack on the constituents of the Mahagathbandhan and said that they only have a single point agenda of ousting him from power.

Dubbing the Mahagathbandhan as “Mahamilavathi” the Prime Minister said “ if you take out their abuses against me from their speeches then nothing will remain. They don’t have anything else to say,” said Modi.

He also said that apart from abusing him the Mahagathbandhan constituents are now busy abusing the EVM.

The Prime Minister also took a dig at the mercurial temper of the TMC supremo and said that sensing imminent defeat she is so angry that even her party leaders are running away from in fear of getting slapped.

At another rally in the North 24 Paraganas district the Prime Minister slammed Banerjee for asking for evidence of the air strike on terror camps in Pakistan.

Soon after the Modi's claim about TMC MLAs TMC spokesperson Derek O' Brien said that they will complaint to the Election Commission against him.

"Expiry Babu PM , let’s get this straight. Nobody will go with you. Not even one councillor. Are you election campaigning or horse trading! Your expiry date is near. Today, we are complaining to the Election Commission. Charging you with horse trading #LokSabhaElection2019," tweeted O' Brien.
