AAP activist commits suicide

Apparently depressed over ‘inaction’ on her complaints of misbehaviour by a “close aide” of AAP MLA Sharad Chauhan, a 40-year-old party activist committed suicide here on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, two other party MLAs also figured in controversies relating to alleged harassment of women.

Malviya Nagar legislator Somnath Bharti faced allegation of instigating some men to misbehave with a woman in Saket and Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan’s workers faced a complaint of insulting a woman.

Bharti has been booked by police for instigation. In the suicide case, the activist left behind a note saying she had also approached Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Narela MLA Sharad Kumar Chauhan, whose aide was allegedly harassing her.
