Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s flight to Patna on Friday morning ran into engine trouble forcing him to return to the national capital.

Rahul took to Twitter to report the engine trouble and posted a short video showing pilots trying to manoeuvre the private aircraft.

“Engine trouble on our flight to Patna today! We’ve been forced to return to Delhi,” Rahul said on Twitter.

He said his public meetings in Samastipur (Bihar), Balasore (Orissa) and Sangamner (Maharashta) will run late.

In April last year, Rahul’s aircraft had a rough landing at the Hubbali airport.

The 500-feet-free fall and disengagement of the autopilot for a brief while had triggered a scare when the Congress President was in the middle of the campaign for the Karnataka Assembly elections.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation had found that the snag was due to a mechanical failure and grounded pilots for corrective training.
