A trial court in Jodhpur on Wednesday found self-styled godman Asaram Bapu guilty of raping a 16-year-old girl at his ashram on the outskirts of Jodhpur.

The victim had accused Asaram of summoning her to his ashram and raping her on the night of August 15, 2013.

Asaram has been found guilty of all four charges — sexual assault, criminal conspiracy, criminal intimidation and illegal confinement of a minor. The court is yet to set a date for deciding the quantum of punishment.

Asaram had unsuccessfully moved 12 bail applications, of which six were rejected by the trial court, three by the Rajasthan High Court and three by the Supreme Court.
