Chhattisgarh Governor Balramji Dass Tandon dies

Chhattisgarh Governor Balram Das Tandon passed away due to cardiac arrest on Tuesday.

He suffered a cardiac arrest at around 8.00 am on Tuesday and was rushed to private hospital but his condition deteriorated. He was then shifted to Raipur Medical College where he was kept on the ventilator.

Expert doctors continued to monitor his health conditions but he breathed his last on Tuesday noon. His body was taken to his native place through a special flight.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh expressed his profound grief on the sudden demise of Governor Balram Das Tandon. He said in his condolence message that late Tandon had rendered his valuable services to the state for nearly four years. As Governor, he was quite conscious of the development of Chhattisgarh.

Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee President Bhupesh Baghel, Leader of Opposition, Rajya Sabha members Motilal Vora, Chaya Verma, Congress MLAs and other frontal organisational leaders have condoled the death of the governor.

7-day state morning

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh declared seven-day state mourning after the demise of Chhattisgarh Governor. The General Administration Department (GAD) has issued a circular at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan) to this effect. The order had been issued to all departments, Divisional Commissioners and District Collectors. The State mourning will be held from August 14-20th.
