Cong ready with first list for Chhattisgarh polls

The Congress is set to announce its first list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly election in Chhattisgarh, within a couple of days.

“The first list of candidates is almost finalised. The party high command will declare the names any moment,” said Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) President Bhupesh Baghel.

Addressing the media at party headquarters here, he said after a series of meetings in New Delhi by the Screening Committee for the state, the first list of candidates is almost ready.

“We are ready and prepared to contest the polls,” he said.

“We are reaching out to the people and seeking their blessings. The response is favourable,” Baghel said.

Regarding the election manifesto, the CGPCC chief said this time BJP would not be able to copy the Congress as they would highlight works not done by the government in the last 15 years of BJP rule.
