Drunk cops perform 'striptease' in Uttar Pradesh

Drunk Uttar Pradesh policemen performed a “striptease” inside a hotel in Sambhal district, about 450 km from here, after allegedly threatening the owner.

According to reports, they  also performed stunts on their motorbikes inside the banquet hall of the hotel ignoring repeated pleas by the terrified owner, who had been coerced into silence by force of guns.

Taking a serious view of the matter, the government has suspended eight cops on charges of indiscipline and ordered an inquiry into the same, police officials said on Thursday. Police sources said the banquet hall had been booked to organise a birthday party. 

At around nine in the night, over a dozen cops, who carried liquor bottles, arrived there on a jeep and started having a party there despite objections from the owner. A little later they took off their shirts and started dancing to the tune of lewd songs.

“Some cops later brought in their motorbikes also and began performing stunts inside the banquet hall,” said an eyewitness. The policemen partied till late in the night. 

The matter came to light through a video clip. A preliminary probe was conducted by the district police officials. “Prima facie the allegations were found to be true,” said a police official in Sambhal.
