About 30 injured in stampede at Bengal Hospital

About 30 people were injured on Wednesday during a stampede at a government hospital in West Bengal's Murshidabad district.

The incident took place at the Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital when smoke was seen coming out of the fifth floor of the building.

According to Hospital sources, people started to panic and tried to run down the stairs.

" About 30 persons got injured and some are in a critical condition," a Hospital official said.

Three fire engines rushed to the hospital and brought the fire under control.
