FM radio station at Shimoga

Yeddyurappa, who is the capital to attend a two-day BJP executive meeting, met Soni here on Saturday and requested that Shimoga, which is emerging as a major commercial hub, should be sanctioned FM station.

The minister also assured that the Centre was keen to establish more low-power TV transmitter stations in various parts of Karnataka where Doordarshan does not have a reach, said official release here. She also asked the State Government to bring a proposal in this regard.
