J Srinivasa Rao, the attacker of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, was rushed to the King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam after he suddenly collapsed during interrogation by the police on Tuesday.

Doctors ran quick tests and on the way back, he shouted to the media that there is a threat to his life and if he died, his organs must be donated.

Police said Srinivasa Rao was in good health and it is normal procedure to take the accused under judicial custody for a medical checkup every 48 hours. “His health is normal and only after the doctors confirmed it, he was taken back for questioning,” Mahesh Chandra Laddha, Commissioner of Police, Visakhapatnam told the media.

He said Rao is not cooperating with the police. He trashed reports that the accused had a heart condition and also denied that the police intended "to bump him off". The police said that it is normal for the accused to feel slight weakness after three days of questioning.'

Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team probing the attack on Jagan said that the call records of Rao’s mobile phones and his bank accounts in SBI, Vijaya and Andhra banks were under scrutiny. The SIT said that a team has gone to Madhya Pradesh and Odisha to question old acquaintances of Rao, who worked with him in the airport cafeteria. Police have questioned 35 witnesses of the incident.
